Bible Flame

1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Bible Flame app and website (the "Service"), operated by Bible Flame ("we", "us", or "our"). Bible Flame is a Bible study app designed for Coptic Orthodox Sunday school students.

By using the Service — or by creating, managing, or supervising an account on it — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. Please read both.

2. Who May Use Bible Flame

Bible Flame has three kinds of users:

Children — students who use the app to complete lessons and recite verses. Children do not create their own accounts. An account is created for them by an authorised teacher or administrator.
Teachers — Sunday school teachers authorised by a church to create and manage student accounts and lesson content.
Church administrators — adults authorised by a church to manage teachers, students, and church settings.

Teachers and administrators must be adults (18 or older) and must be authorised by their church to act in that role.

3. Accounts and Authorisation

If you create or manage accounts as a teacher or administrator, you agree that:

You are authorised by your church to do so.
You will only create a child's account where you have the appropriate authority and consent to do so (see Section 8).
The information you enter (such as a child's name and class) is accurate and that you have the right to provide it.
You will keep login credentials (usernames and PINs) secure and only share a child's credentials with that child or their parent/guardian.
You are responsible for activity carried out under accounts you manage.

We may suspend or remove accounts that are created or used in breach of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Bible Flame, you must not:

Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
Upload, create, or share content that is offensive, abusive, misleading, infringing, or inappropriate for children.
Attempt to access accounts, data, or areas of the Service you are not authorised to access.
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the Service.
Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service except as permitted by law.
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your authorisation or affiliation.

We may remove content and suspend access where these rules are breached.

5. Teacher and Administrator Content

Teachers and administrators may upload or create content such as lessons, questions, images, and audio ("Your Content").

You retain ownership of Your Content.
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service (for example, showing a lesson you created to your students).
You confirm that you have the right to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights and is appropriate for children.
We may remove any content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or is inappropriate, without notice.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of any content you upload.

6. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Bible Flame app, website, design, software, branding, and the lessons and materials we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Bible text is used in accordance with the rights of its respective publishers.

You may use the Service for its intended educational purpose. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content except as permitted by these Terms or by law.

7. Rewards Have No Monetary Value

Bible Flame includes in-app rewards such as halos, points, streaks, stickers, and badges. These are part of the learning experience only.

They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or goods, and cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed.
We may adjust, reset, or remove rewards — for example to fix errors, prevent abuse, or improve the app.
Rewards earned under an account are removed when that account is deleted.

Bible Flame is designed for children, and we take that responsibility seriously (see our Privacy Policy for full detail).

Children's accounts are created only by authorised adults, who are responsible for obtaining any parental or guardian consent required for a child to use the Service.
Parents and guardians may ask the relevant teacher or church administrator to review, correct, or delete their child's account, or may contact us at hello@bibleflame.org.
We collect only the limited information described in our Privacy Policy and never collect contact information directly from children.

9. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service running reliably, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, except those that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the re-supply of the Service (or the reasonable cost of doing so).

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or guarantees that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law (including the Australian Consumer Law).

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service — for any account or user — if these Terms are breached, if required by law, or to protect users or the integrity of the Service.

Teachers and administrators may delete accounts they manage at any time. When an account is deleted, its data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we will notify church administrators directly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
